The first annual 7 Mile House Jazz Festival in Brisbane, CA provided a compelling new option for splendid music and dining in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was a cozy location where you can sit close to the performing bands. Everyone is looking forward to next year’s festival and its continued success.

The first annual “7 Mile House Jazz Fest,” took place on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 12pm-11:30pm. The festival featured 11 bands, an impressive array of the Bay Area’s top jazz musicians and ensembles. Hosted by KCSM Jazz 91 DJ, Alisa Clancy, it also marked the first annual “7 Mile House Jazz Awards” for the following categories: Outstanding Bay Area Jazz Presenters, Outstanding Bay Area Jazz Promoters, and Outstanding Bay Area Jazz Artists.

The Jazz Fest was the occasion for the installation of the  “Jazz Wall of Fame” featuring a permanent display of local musicians. Photographed and curated by Jessica Levant, a San Francisco based photo artist and jazz aficionado, who, along with co-jazz lover Linda McGilvray, produced two volumes of Bay Area Jazz and Bluesicians; a project that originated and was launched at the 7 Mile House in 2013.  The two volumes can be ordered at a deep discount at the Jazz Fest or are available on or at

7 Mile House has become a home for jazz on the Peninsula, and a wonderful resource for fans of this great music. We’re thrilled to see the inauguration of this great new festival!

I am delighted to be included in the lineup of great bands for the first (annual!) 7 Mile Jazz Festival! Not only do I get to play, but I get to listen to some great musicians at one of the Bay Area’s coolest hangs!

One of the greatest pleasures of being in the arts and music is the feeling of being in a big family that works for the common good and supports each other. The first annual jazz festival at 7 Mile House is a perfect example of how this is put into action by the family of musicians, club owners, publicity folks, and all the friends who support music at our home base, the 7 Mile House. Soul Sauce is delighted to be part of this event.

We at the California Jazz Conservatory are very excited to participate in the very first 7 Mile Jazz Festival - but even more, to start a relationship where we can continue to provide an annual stage and audience for our students!
