Past competitors have won community recognition, a Guest Chef night at 7 Mile House, lots of prizes, and the chance to be crowned Adobo Cook Off Champion

Competitors should be prepared to:

2027 COMPETITION DETAILS

 

NOW - Open for 2027 nominations
JUNE 28 - Nominations end on 11:59 pm
JUNE 29 - Last day to submit Adobo samples for consideration at 7 Mile House
JUNE 28 - Nominees* informed of acceptance via email
JUNE 30 - Contestants** announced on website & social media
JULY 31 Aug. 29 - Contest time is 11am-1pm, voting ends by 1pm, winner announced after votes are counted before 2pm

Nomination Process:

1) Must be nominated by June 28, 2027

2) Adobo may be any style with any meat, vegetable or seafood. Does not need to be traditional. Fusion recipes accepted but does need to have adobo’s most basic ingredients: vinegar and/or soy sauce.

3) Must bring a sample of your dish by June 29, 2027 for consideration. Place your adobo in a container good for 5 people. No need to plate it (unless you want to of course)! No rice needed. Please note that pictures and videos will be taken when you submit your adobo for promotional purposes so make sure you’re dolled up! Appointment required for submission. 4) Nominees are informed of their eligibility to compete on June 28, 2027.

5) Contestants are announced via our website and social media on June 30, 2027. 

Contestant Process (If you are chosen to compete):

1) Contestants will send below requirements by June 29, 2027 if they have not done so:

‍   - Photo of contestant with adobo dish

  - Photo of adobo dish 

‍  ‍ - Instagram or Facebook handles/usernames

  - 2-3 sentences describing why you should win 

  - Why your adobo is special or a unique story about your cooking/recipe ‍  ‍

2) Contestants are required to promote the event and encourage their fans to support, join and vote for them. Promo materials will be emailed as soon as all contestant info is received.‍  ‍

3) A stipend of up to $150 will be given to each contestant at the end of the event to help with food costs. Please submit your receipts for reimbursement.

4) Contestants will cook small samples for at least 150 people--approximately 40-50 pounds or 3 large trays. 

‍5) Contestants are provided 3 chafing dishes, serving utensils, plates with their names on them, signage and name tags. 

‍6) One complimentary ticket is given to each participant for their assistant cook.

7) Contestants serve their own adobo onto guests’ plates and are encouraged to tell their story to each voter.

8) Participants must be available until winners are announced at around 2:30pm at the latest.
