7 Mile House Celebrates 167 Years in business, 20 years of family ownership and outdoor dining Expansion in 2025
Free Adobo Bowls To Go Given to the First 200 Guests; History Talk with Owner, Vanessa Garcia; $1.67 Shots of Jack Daniels, Live Music and Free Dog Meals All Day
Brisbane, CA, January 28, 2025 — This year, 7 Mile House, the oldest restaurant and bar in the Bay Area, proudly celebrates a historic double milestone—the 167th anniversary of this iconic stagecoach stop and 20 years of family ownership under three generations of Filipina women, Vanessa Garcia, her mother, Cleopatra Garcia, and her daughter, Visadora Villacarlos. Since acquiring the restaurant in 2004, Garcia and her family have dedicated themselves to preserving its legacy while navigating the challenges and triumphs of running a business in an ever-changing industry.
On February 2, starting at 10:30 am, Vanessa Garcia, will present a talk about their 167 years of history, highlighting stories about its owners from past to present. At 11:30 am, the annual Adobo Giveaway commences with free adobo and rice bowls for take-out to the first 200 people and $1.67 Jack Daniel’s shots served all day. To honor the past tradition of daily live music, 7 Mile House is thrilled to feature the acoustic pop duo, “Annie’s Alibi” at 4pm.
A Legacy of Growth & Community
“Over the past two decades, 7 Mile House has evolved from a modest local dive bar into a full-service restaurant known for our Filipino and Bay Area-inspired menu, welcoming atmosphere, and award-winning dog-friendly program,” said owner, Vanessa Garcia. “As the only establishment in the Bay Area that offers an expansive dog program, including dog pawty packages, a dog menu and yappy hour, our new outdoor area will enable us to serve more dog-loving families and possibly even restart live music in the near future!”
With plans to enlarge the outdoor space in 2025, 7 Mile House is excited to announce it is taking over the adjacent lot, creating an even larger space dedicated to dog-friendly gatherings. The new outdoor area will allow the restaurant to host bigger dog “pawties”, off-leash days, and provide an enhanced experience for the community. This move is a testament to 7 Mile House’s ongoing commitment to serving both its human and four-legged guests in new and exciting ways.
