As a new entrepreneur, being a part of the 7 Mile House Ube Bake Off, gave me the confidence and the boost I needed to help jump start my personal chef business. I received a lot of exposure through 7 Mile House social media, which in turn, helped expand my network and customer base. The event was very well organized and it was a lot of fun! I enjoyed meeting the other bakers/chefs and love that I now feel like I'm part of a 'foodie network.' I also had the opportunity to do my first pop up event selling my ube tres leches cake with 7 Mile House, in conjunction with Not Your Mama's Adobo event at Kapwa Gardens.

I hadn't planned on selling cakes as part of my business but because of the Ube Bake Off, it gave me the opportunity to explore that avenue which in turn brought in a revenue of almost 10k! I love meeting all of the customers who have bought cakes from me for their special celebrations. Having the chance to sell my cakes weekly to 7 Mile House has been a joy, as I get to see/chat with the nicest and most hardworking staff every week. As an entrepreneur, my work can be lonely at times since I don't have co-workers anymore, however seeing them weekly made me feel as if I had some! 7 Mile House is such a special place and I'm so grateful to have collaborated with Vanessa, who has been such a huge supporter of my business. She loves bringing the community together and she does it so effortlessly. I can't thank her enough for giving me opportunities to grow my business.
