HISTORIC SPORTS BAR 7 MILE HOUSE CELEBRATES 163 YEARS AND SUPER BOWL 50 WITH FILIPINO FOOD!

BRISBANE, CA, February 2, 2016 – As Super Bowl 50 marks its golden anniversary in the Golden State, the historic 7 Mile House, one of the oldest restaurants and sports bars in the San Francisco Bay Area, is celebrating its 163rd year in business. Known as the only “mile house” left in its original location, 7 Mile House is highlighting Filipino fare throughout the upcoming weekend!

The festivities kick off on Friday, February 5th with free adobo and rice bowls all day long (while supplies last). On Sunday, February 7th, it's game day and the real halftime show is happening at 7 Mile House with the ultimate ‘Filipino Street Food Experience featuring Balut’! Balut is a developing duck embryo that is boiled and eaten in the shell (not to mention the perfect snack to indulge in with local craft beer on tap). Everyone is encouraged to try what Andrew Zimmern (Bizarre Foods) claims to be one of the strangest foods he has ever eaten in his life! To encourage first-time Balut eaters, 7 Mile House is offering a pitcher of any draft beer on the house to those who finish the meal.

“This is an exciting anniversary for us as we pride ourselves on being one of the best and oldest sports bars in the area, and celebrating our 163rd Anniversary along with Super Bowl weekend is icing on the cake! We miss having Candlestick Park as our neighbor, but the sports fans continue to come regardless of the changes happening in the Bay Area. We’ll be giving away a customer favorite, adobo with rice, for free all day as a small thank you to everyone who have supported us through the years!" said Vanessa Garcia, Owner, 7 Mile House.

7 Mile House is a family-owned establishment, creating an inviting space that keeps locals coming back, and a destination for visitors to get a taste of the Bay with a unique mix of homestyle Italian, American, and Filipino food. Boasting live music every single night, 7 Mile House is arguably the only live music venue in the Peninsula where guests can enjoy hearing critically acclaimed musicians for free. All are invited to spend Super Bowl weekend at this family-friendly sports bar and restaurant located near the late and great Candlestick Park.
