Star of the Bar Cocktail Competition

On December 9, 2019, 7 Mile House together with Infanta Lambanog kicked off the first annual Star of the Bar Cocktail Competition, where guests got a taste and experienced different craft cocktail recipes from competing bartenders.

With the crowd as the judge in this live action bartending competition, attendees scored the bartenders’s drinks on taste, presentation, creativity and the bartender’s showmanship.

The competition focused around creating a cocktail with the signature Infanta Lambanog, a small batch award winning alcohol distilled from coconut palm tree nectar, harvested from the rich soils and warm climates of the Philippine Islands.

This distilled spirit is rare and very special.

Handcrafted by generations of Filipino 'mangagarit', it is a distillate of harvested nectar from the blossoming flowers of organic coconut palm trees, grown only in the tropical climates and nutrient rich soils of the pacific islands of Southeast Asia.

Five competing bartenders brought their game to the historic 161-year old establishment, to a crowd of eager and excited attendees.

Attendees of the competition eagerly rushed to each bartenders’ station to get a taste of each cocktail. By the end of the evening and after all scorecards have been counted, one bartender emerged as the Star of the Bar—Darlene, with her drink “Under the Coconut Tree” which is a Filipino version of the horchata. At once comforting and refreshing, the cocktail won many hearts and and she was crowned Star of the Bar.

Thank you once again to everyone who made it out to the event! We are thrilled to partner with Infanta Lambanog for this event, and we’re hoping to make it an annual cocktail affair. Cheers!
