7 Mile Makes a Painful Decision to Shut Down Due to COVID-19
We closed our doors on March 17, 2020 — 2 days before Gov. Gavin Newsom announced all businesses to shut down due to shelter in place.
Our closure was easier to digest when we thought this was only going to be a 3-week ordeal. Little did we know we were in it for the long-haul.
“This whole country needs to shutdown for us to emerge in 3 weeks because it’s not gonna work if people don’t obey.”
We are thankful for this video that was beautifully was captured by Jeremiah Ysip who happened to come into 7 Mile House to see how we were doing. He did not know that we were closed to the public and only opened our doors to staff to distribute paychecks and give away groceries to help survive the shutdown.
